Clean Drinking Water Saves Lives

People are dying at an alarming rate because of dirty, polluted water. Many people around the world are without safe water for drinking, washing their eating utensils, or bathing. Often their only water supply has been contaminated by factories, by chemicals, or even by the lack of safe personal sanitation methods in the area. Flooding, storms, and other natural disasters also contribute to dangerous, deadly, polluted water.

More than 40 million waterborne illnesses are reported each year. And at least two million people die as a result of dirty, brackish, polluted water. Some estimates of water-related deaths are as high as five million a year.
